Global Peace(s) Puzzle
The inspiration behind "Global
Peace(s)" came from a dream that co-founder Sue Belanger had shortly after
September 11, 2001. In this dream, the Earth was seen from space, but
it was shattered into pieces. As the dream progressed, however, the pieces
slowly began to come back together, one by one, until the planet was whole
again.
"This literal vision of the Earth being recreated from its separate pieces
resonated in my soul," Sue said. "I began to see this dream as a powerful
metaphor for the healing of a world torn by divisions."
"When I shared the dream with my friend Jeannie, we both felt that the
"Global Peace(s)" puzzle idea had to become reality.
We believe that by putting together "Global Peace(s)" with an intention
toward peace, individuals and groups can actually increase the level of
peace on the planet.
You may be familiar with a theory called the "one-hundredth monkey" that
states that once a critical number of individuals get an idea, everyone
else will rapidly get the idea. This is based on a study that showed when
the 100th monkey in a group learned to wash its food, suddenly all of
the monkeys in the group got on the bandwagon and washed theirs, too.
This is part of the idea behind "Global Peace(s)." As more people think
about and become intent on peace, collectively the planet will become
more peaceful.
The "Global Peace(s)" puzzle is about connections rather than divisions
... about how we can each do something to make the world a better place.
The "Global Peace(s)" jigsaw puzzle uses the famous NASA image of the
Earth as seen from the 1972 Apollo 17 lunar mission, and is 108 pieces.
It comes with a flyer that explains the puzzle as an activity and has
suggestions for its use. Also included is a Puzzles with a Purpose sticker
so that others can find out how they, too, can create global peace ...
one person and one piece at a time.

Shining our own light is to authenticate ourselves and is the real power we have. Power does not lie in conquering others. Power does not lie in winning wars.
